Na obrzeżach Malborka, w cichej i zielonej części miasta, kilkaset metrów od brzegu przepięknej rzeki Nogat, położony jest Dom Pomocy Społecznej, przeznaczony dla 82 osób przewlekle somatycznie chorych. Zabudowania to efektowny dwukondygnacyjny budynek, który powstał w latach 20-tych XX wieku, z przeznaczeniem na dom dla kobiet pochodzenia Niemieckiego. Od 1945 miejsce pełni funkcje społeczne. Odnowiony niedawno budynek domu przystosowany jest dla osób niepełnosprawnych, posiada windę osobową, podjazd, łazienki bez barier. Spełnia najwyższe standardy mieszkaniowe. Mieszkańcy mają do dyspozycji eleganckie pokoje 1 i 2 osobowe ze swobodnym dostępem do łazienek i WC. Ponadto do ich dyspozycji pozostają pokoje dziennego pobytu, własna kuchnia, sala wielofunkcyjna z jadalnią, biblioteka, sala rehabilitacji, sala terapii zajęciowej z łazienką i kuchnią oraz kaplica. Najbliższe otoczenie Domu to piękny ogród, ulubione miejsce spacerów oraz odpoczynku.
DPS zapewnia całodobową opiekę, pomoc medyczną, zajęcia rehabilitacyjne oraz terapeutyczne. Czas wolny wypełniają liczne imprezy okolicznościowe, spotkania towarzyskie, spacery, wyjazdy (Dom posiada własny samochód do przewozu osób niepełnosprawnych), udział w wydarzeniach kultury i sportu.
