W spokojnej części Makowa Mazowieckiego, pośród jednorodzinnej zabudowy, nad samym brzegiem zalewu i rzeki Orzyc, położony jest Dom Pomocy Społecznej, przeznaczony dla 30 osób przewlekle somatycznie chorych – kobiet i mężczyzn. Placówka jest bardzo kameralna, mała ilość podopiecznych sprawia, że każdy może liczyć na profesjonalną i kompleksową pomoc. Zabudowania DPS posiadają udogodnienia dla osób niepełnosprawnych, w tym podjazdy, windy osobowe, system alarmowy w pokojach, poręcze na korytarzach. Baza mieszkaniowa to 13 pokoi z przedpokojami, każdy pokój ma osobną łazienkę wyposażoną w prysznic, wc, umywalkę, do dyspozycji mieszkańców jest także ogólny pokój kąpielowy z wanną. W każdym pokoju znajduje się łóżko, stół, krzesła, szafki nocne, szafa, radio, mieszkańcy mogą posiadać własne meble i rzeczy.
Placówka zapewnia całodobową opiekę, pomoc medyczną, zajęcia rehabilitacji, a także warsztaty terapeutyczne (socjoterapia, biblioterapia, sylwioterapia, arteterapia, muzykoterapia, terapia ruchowa, filmoterapia, terapia intelektualna (gry planszowe, karty, szachy, warcaby)).
