W północno-zachodniej części Łodzi, na samych obrzeżach miasta, na skraju pięknego, gęstego lasku, w bardzo cichej i mało zaludnionej okolicy, położony jest Dom Pomocy Społecznej, przeznaczony dla 178 osób – dzieci i młodzieży niepełnosprawnej intelektualnie. DPS składa się z dwóch starych budynków wybudowanych w latach 60-tych oraz nowoczesnego pawilonu. Podopieczni podzieleni są na 12 grup, w których znajduje się od 10 do 18 osób.
