W bardzo spokojnej części Wadowic, pośród jednorodzinnej zabudowy, 200 metrów od centrum miasta, położony jest Dom Pomocy Społecznej przeznaczony dla 114 dorosłych osób przewlekle psychicznie chorych, zarówno kobiet, jak i mężczyzn. Budynek DPS składa się z 3 oddziałów, na których znajdują się pokoje 1, 2 i 3 osobowe, pokoje posiadają własne węzły sanitarne. Każdy oddział posiada pokój pobytu dziennego, gdzie mieszkańcy wspólnie spędzają czas wolny, oraz aneks kuchenny w celu przygotowania sobie dodatkowych posiłków. Na działce okalającej Dom znajduje się nieduży ogród, który zapewnia mnóstwo spokoju i chroni prywatności mieszkańców. Altana w środku ogrodu, zieleń i kwiaty dają atmosferę, spokoju, ciszy i wytchnienia – bez wyjątku, wszyscy pensjonariusze uwielbiają tu przebywać.
Placówka zapewnia całodobową opiekę, pomoc medyczną, zajęcia rehabilitacji oraz terapeutyczne, na których wszyscy z pasją oddają się malowaniu i wyklejaniu obrazów, haftowaniu serwet, robótkom ręcznym, czy też decoupage, w ramach pracowni krawieckiej, hafciarskiej, plastycznej, robótek ręcznych, gospodarczo-porządkowej. Czas wolny wypełniają liczne spotkania towarzyskie, imprezy okolicznościowe, wyjazdy do ciekawych miejsc, spacery po okolicy oraz przydomowym ogrodzie, ponadto do dyspozycji mieszkańców oddano stół do bilarda i ping ponga, urokliwą biblioteczkę, a także kaplicę. Mieszkańcy bardzo chętnie odwiedzają pięknie odnowiony wadowicki rynek, w pobliżu parafialnego Kościoła i domu rodzinnego Ojca św.
