DPS Łódź Spadkowa
W północno-zachodniej części Łodzi, na samych obrzeżach miasta, na skraju pięknego, gęstego lasku, w bardzo cichej i mało zaludnionej okolicy, położony jest Dom Pomocy Społecznej, przeznaczony dla 178 osób – dzieci i młodzieży niepełnosprawnej intelektualnie. DPS składa się z dwóch starych budynków wybudowanych w latach 60-tych oraz nowoczesnego pawilonu. Podopieczni podzieleni są na 12 grup, w których znajduje się od 10 do 18 osób. Pensjonariusze dobrani są pod względem wiekowym i stopnia upośledzenia. Każda grupa ma swoją łazienkę oraz toaletę. Ponadto własną jadalnię oraz bawialnię. W bawialniach znajdują się segmenty zaopatrzone w pomoce dydaktyczne, sprzęt RTV. Mieszkańcy mają do dyspozycji przytulne, urządzone adekwatnie do wieku, pokoje mieszkalne. Najbliższe otoczenie Domu to gęsto zadrzewiony teren rekreacyjny, umożliwiający aktywny wypoczynek oraz organizację imprez plenerowych.
DPS zapewnia całodobową opiekę, pomoc medyczną, zajęcia rehabilitacyjne oraz terapeutyczne – które odbywają się w licznych pracowniach tematycznych, np. plastycznej, teatralnej, multimedialnej, muzykoterapii. Placówka zapewnia edukację na wymaganym poziomie. W pobliżu Domu działa Szkoła Podstawowa nr 95 Specjalnego Ośrodka Szkolno – Wychowawczego. Nad sprawnością fizyczną czuwa zespół specjalistów, którzy dzięki bogatemu zapleczu, m.in. sali gimnastycznej oraz basenowi, mogą w pełni zadbać o rozwój ruchowy podopiecznych.
